A written exam

In this course, you will develop design criteria for products and analyse those criteria biomechanically. For example: how can a car seat be optimized for the human body?

You will also evaluate the mechanical properties of biological materials (such as bone and skin) and their functions. For example: can a patient, who just had surgery to fix his knee ligaments, make a mountain walk?

During the lectures, you will discuss about the form and functions of joins in the body and about forces exerted on the body in several situations. A practical in the Erasmus University Medical Center will give you insights in EMG measurements.
